Editing would be much faster if there were general keyboard shortcuts, like
Spacebar: toggle video playback
Horizontal arrow keys: move frame by frame
Vertical arrow keys: move 10 frames each
B: cut where the cursor is
CMD + D: duplicate current selection, also Alt + Mouse Drag
Shift + Z: add zoom to current cursor position
And pinch on trackpad for zooming the timeline.
