Record de ios Simulator as a device
Would be great if you could select the simulator as a Device or have an option to choose the simulator in the “window, section, device” to record the video and be able to choose a microphone for the audio
Crop / reframe the source recording in the editor
The problem When I record a browser window, the browser chrome (tabs, URL bar, bookmarks, extensions) ends up inside the frame. Once the recording exists, there is no way to remove it. None of the current options solve it: Trim is temporal — it cuts time, not framing. Content masks cover the area with a glassy blur. That leaves a visible blurred patch across the top of the video, which looks worse than the browser bar itself. Area mode only helps if you remember before recording. If the take is already done — and takes with voiceover are expensive to redo — it's lost. Cropping the exported file externally doesn't work either, because the export already includes the background, padding and rounded corners. Cropping it cuts the frame itself and the result ends up off-center. The request A crop control on the source video layer in the editor: drag handles on the recording, plus numeric inputs for top / right / bottom / left, and free or preset aspect ratio. Key part: it should be non-destructive and applied before compositing, so the cropped region becomes the video layer and background, padding, rounded corners, inset and shadow re-apply around the new edges. The result should look exactly like it would if I had recorded that area from the start. Nice to have: Adjustable at any time, not a one-way operation. Independent of export aspect ratio (crop the source, then choose 16:9 / 9:16 / 1:1 for output). Auto zoom and cursor tracking should operate inside the cropped region. A "hide browser chrome" preset that crops a sensible amount off the top. Why this should be simple to build The renderer already places the source inside a background frame and already reads a moving sub-rectangle of the source texture — that's what zoom and pan do. Crop is the same operation with a static rectangle: one (x, y, w, h) on the source layer, applied before the existing composite step. No new render path, no re-encoding of the original file, no change to the export pipeline. Zoom is the hard version of this and it already ships. Why it's valuable Saves re-recording, which is by far the most expensive part of making these videos. Rescues footage that is otherwise unusable — one forgotten Area selection currently means starting over. Privacy: removes tabs with client names, bookmarks and extension icons cleanly, without a blur patch drawing attention to the fact that something was hidden. Makes vertical and social exports viable, since you can crop to the content instead of letterboxing a wide desktop capture. Complements the existing content mask feature rather than overlapping it: masks for things in the middle of the frame, crop for everything at the edges.
Live streaming mode
There’s a huge untapped market in enterprise software sales where live demos of the product are a daily ritual for sales and presales to be able to use a tool such as this as a virtual camera for Zoom/Teams/Google Meet etc.
Feature Request: Separate Screenshot and Screen Recording Options
I would like to suggest separating the screenshot and screen recording functions into distinct options on the Mac menu bar. This would allow users to quickly capture a full-screen screenshot without navigating through additional steps. Additionally, it would be highly beneficial to integrate OCR (Optical Character Recognition) into the screenshot feature, enabling users to extract text directly from captured images.
Add slower playback speed
Volume control of a specific section
Requests for additional features
Hi Desired additional features 1: Import SRT files. (I want to edit using existing SRT files) 2: Fine-tune the speed of added audio files (1.1x, 1.2x, 1.3x... 2x etc.) With just these features, I could handle video editing. Ideally, I'd like to use it not just for recording but as a video editing tool too. I'd be happy with minimal functionality kept simple.
Shadow control
It’s cosmetic, but I would love to see more shadow control - like choosing color, opacity(!), not only distance and blur.
Feature Request: Ability to Change the Shared Video Title
We can’t change the video title from the website. A title is added automatically, and there’s currently no option to edit it. This is really important for us.
Feature Request: Add trackpad pinch to zoom in-out in the video track
Hi, I’m not sure if this is a bug or it’s not developed yet. But I would like to suggest trackpad pinch to zoom in-out in the video track. My Motionik version is 2.4.0, using macbook m1 pro / macos with trackpad for editing.

Cutting Audio and Video
It should be possible to cut out sections of the video and recorded audio. Not sure if I just can’t figure it out, but Cutting/Trimming does what you would expect from cutting. On macOS: I cut in two places → select the inner section and click on “Delete Section” (keyboard shortcut does nothing here). This section then disappears, but the space is replaced with the content of the left-side timeline containing the exact content I wanted to remove. The audio can’t be cut, which is also necessary.

Text Input Tracking
I’m producing coding tutorials, maybe its great if in Motionik has text input tracking, so the zoom following text input, so the code clearly visible and focus. I’ve seen this feature on ScreenSage and it’s only for Mac
[Bug] Cannot delete an object with delete button in macbook keyboard
I use Motionik Version 2.4.0, in macos / standard macbook keyboard layout, but it’s not able to delete an object (zoom mouse, etc). not sure if this is a bug or something was not configured properly on my side

Auto Zoom Variations
Hi Motionik Team, Loving how smooth your auto zoom feels. I noticed one improvement that could make it even better. Right now, when auto zoom triggers, the entire frame including background padding is scaled. This can break layout balance when styled backgrounds are used. It would be great if you could add two auto zoom modes: Content-only zoom: zooms only the recorded area, keeps background static. Full-frame zoom: current behavior, zooms entire frame with background. Having both options would give flexibility depending on video style. Thanks for considering this! Harry
3D Effect / Zoom Tilt
Loving this product overall and to see the active updates and work being done! Plus you can’t beat the quality and lifetime price! Well done! One feature that I think would take it even further and bring an extra level of polish would to provide a Zoom experience that mimics or creates the perspective of a 3D effect in which case the recording allows for a shift of axis (the X, Y, Z or a combo). Giving the user control of this will make it feel almost like sizzle reel in that you’re able to not only provide a quality zoom, but also give it that angle that you’d see in high quality demos and experiences. I know there are a couple other tools that do this - and they’re great, but nothing can beat what you all have here and I think this could be something that takes it up a notch to compete with those tools too! Thanks for the consideration! Bobby
Audio Normalization
Hi team! Just got to know Motionik today and already ran a test and I’m really happy with the results. What I need for this to be production ready is better audio optimization. Right now Screen Studio offers native audio normalization + background noise removal. This would be really helpful as it would speed up our production workflow.
No Updates for Long Time
I see board, many bug reports and features suggestion, but nothing news or update from this app?
Real Microphone Volume/Gain Adjustments or Fix
The recorded audio volume on a MacBook Pro is way too quiet. You can barely hear the person talking. I cross-tested with Final Cut Pro and Google Vids to make sure it’s not my fault. The pitch in the Motionik editor is already at 100%. For longer videos (12 minutes+), the audio recording stops randomly mid-recording. I tried it with the MacBook microphone, the iPhone as a mic, and a Yeti Blue USB microphone. Right now, version 1.9.2 is unusable with these restraints.
Remember Recording Setting
Hi, i’ve ran some test with this app and so happy with the results and current features. But little things annoyed me is when I open the app, I always need to setting / reconfigure the recording settings, like select microphone, recording area. PS: Running on Windows 11
Less aggressive Auto Zoom
Editing would be so much faster if there were an option to trigger auto-zoom around the timing of a mouse click instead of the mouse movement. Options: 1: trigger by mouse movement 2: trigger by mouse click, with before- and after-threshold in seconds or milliseconds Right now it is so time-consuming that I continue with a competitor, even though I have purchased a license of Motionik.

Background of the Camera Options
Hi, Great software. Can we have the option to: Blur the background of the camera that is recording the presenter Remove the background of the presenter Thank you for your consideration.
